Felt Purse May 10, 2007

Wow, sorry it took so long for my first real post… its quit intimidating to start a new blog so I wanted to start with a great project. So I’ve decided on a great functional and cheep purse… try $4 cheep and its supper easy.

Felt Purse Inside

you will need:
2 colors of felt (I used orange and blue because I like those two colors together)
thread- may want a color that looks good with the felt
about 3 yards of cording
Fabric stabilizer (non-water devolving kind)

Felt Purse outside

Take the two pieces of felt cutting one to be thinner the the other. In this case the orange (or A) is thinner then the blue (B). Then lay the the “A” piece and centered on top of “B”; pulling “A” up and folding over “B” on one edge. Sew down the fold. Insert the stabilizer in between the two pieces of felt. Now fold the edge with seem a 1/4 the way up or until you like the way it looks.

Wrist

Now get you cord and make a loop to go around you wrist, then make sure the rest of the cord is outside next to the loop for you wrist. Start sewing at one corner of the fold and sew all the way up and around the top and sides of “A” staying near the seem. finally tie a small loop near the loop for your wrist and then tie two knots at the end of the cord.

And there you have it a great purse for little time and for a great price. Enjoy!!
